The Hindu Holy Trinity (Trimurti)
The Hindu Holy Trinity (Trimurti) is a symbolic way of understanding how one divine reality expresses itself through creation, preservation, and transformation. It is not three gods competing amongst themselves rather to be seen as three cosmic functions of the same ultimate truth.
Hindu philosophy sees the universe as a continuous cycle:
- Creation → Brahma
- Sustenance → Vishnu
- Dissolution/Transformation → Shiva
- Re‑creation → The cycle begins again
This mirrors natural cycles—birth, life, death, and rebirth.
